During his speech, Jean-Baptiste Sandoz defended a strong conviction:
Overseas territories are not peripheral areas, but driving forces, capable of anticipating and experimenting with the solutions of tomorrow.
His remarks focused on three main areas:
Overseas innovation
Overseas territories are veritable laboratories for innovation, where industrial, environmental, and social solutions can be tested and then rolled out on a larger scale in France and Europe.
Industrial sovereignty
By transforming waste into resources, Company Project's initiatives help reduce dependence on imports, structure new industrial sectors, and strengthen local skills.
The ecological and social impact
The circular economy appears to be a concrete lever for combining job creation, training, inclusion of people who are distant from the job market, and reduction of the environmental footprint.
A generation that acts, beyond words
Throughout his career, Jean-Baptiste Sandoz has embodied a generation of overseas entrepreneurs who prioritize concrete action, regional roots, and cooperation between public, private, and academic stakeholders.
His speech highlighted that the overseas departments and territories play a key role in:
- industrial innovation,
- the ecological transition,
- economic sovereignty,
- and national cohesion.
A powerful message for the nation
One of the key messages in this sequence sums up the spirit of the intervention:
"Overseas territories are not peripheral areas: they are laboratories of the future, capable of inventing the economic, social, and ecological solutions of tomorrow."
